Tobago Tours - Visit our Tobago Rain Forest

On your Tobago vacation you can plan various Tobago Tours to enjoy a host of activities that appeal to everyone. We've got beautiful Tobago beaches, great Scuba Diving, two World Class Golf Courses, Hiking in the Tobago Rain Forest and Fishing. Tobago tours can be arranged to help you make the most of your time here.

The Nature Enthusiast
Visit our Tobago Rain Forest. The island's Main Ridge, is the oldest rain forest reserve in the entire Western Hemisphere, protected since 1765. Tobago is nature at its very best! With over 400 species of birds recorded, the Ridge’s Gilpin Trace is just one great hiking trail where you can admire a wide variety of feathery friends!

The Water Baby

Tobago beaches are all beautiful and a perfect choice is Store Bay Beach which is certainly the closest to home. The nearby dive shop can arrange Scuba diving tours to help you enjoy Tobago’s underwater life! Another popular tour is on the Glass bottom boat and is a snorkeling tour to the world-famous Buccoo Reef and Nylon Pool. For those who prefer fresh water to salt, our island has a myriad of refreshing, crystal clear waterfalls and tours can be arranged.

The Partygoer

Tobago is full of entertainment! From the annual Carnival celebrations to the Harvest and Heritage Festivals, there’s always an event to be enjoyed! Add to the mix a mouth-watering array of world-class restaurants and hot nightspots and you have a partygoer’s paradise!

The Explorer

Take an island tour and discover Tobago in so many ways. We can organize most of them for you! Whether you prefer biking, horseback riding, Car rentals or to charter catamarans, exploring our jewel of an island will be an adventure!

The Historian

During colonization, Tobago was the most fought-over territory, having been occupied, at different times, by the British, Dutch and French. The island’s well-preserved historical sites like Fort King George and the Arnos Vale Water Wheel offer visitors a glimpse into our rich Caribbean history.

The Angler

Tobago is the perfect location for anglers and fishing charters are popular. Whether you want to fish purely for recreation or for competition (the Tobago Game Fishing Tournament is a big draw for fishing enthusiasts every March). The island’s deep blue seas and clear, warm water make for ideal fishing conditions, in which deep-sea anglers can wrestle with marlins, swordfish and mahi-mahi, just to name a few. You can hire charters to take you out to the deep blue yonder, or if you prefer a less formal fishing trip, most of the local fishermen will be happy to oblige. http://www.ttgfa.com/home.html

Tobago Activities

Tobago is the perfect place to unwind and do nothing – or get out there and do everything! Not sure where to start? Here are a few ideas from month to month…

    January-February
  • If you rang in the New Year with us, you’ll probably want to relax for a day or two before you start gearing up for the high-voltage Carnival season, which begins with the usual round of fetes, steel band and calypso performances that precede J’Ouvert, the official start of the two days of street masquerade. The celebration ends with Las’ Lap as Ash Wednesday signals the start of the Lenten season.
  • Check out a few of the village Harvest Festivals.
  • Golf tournaments and sailing are also on at this time of year. http://www.ttsailing.org

    March
  • The Turtle Nesting season begins and runs through August – a great opportunity to see this endangered species lay eggs.

    April

  • Easter is a great time in Tobago – the weather is perfect for catching the Good Friday and Easter Monday goat and crab races!
  • Fishing enthusiasts can reel in a catch or two at the Tobago Game Fishing Tournament.

    June
  • Fishing is a staple of the Tobago economy – how else would you enjoy all that fresh seafood? St. Peter’s Day (June 29, in honour of the patron saint of fishermen), is celebrated in a big way, with a Fishermen’s Festival at Charlotteville.
  • Harvest Festivals continue in different villages around the island.

  • July
  • Perhaps the biggest event on the Tobago calendar, the Tobago Heritage Festival is a must-see! A grand tribute to the island’s unique history and culture, the event keeps wonderful cultural storytelling and traditions alive.

  • August

  • We can hardly contain our excitement! The Great Fete Weekend kicks off the month of August on the first weekend of the month at the Store Bay Beach Facility and The Great Race, an annual, 85-mile power boat race from Trinidad to Tobago, which is held on the fourth weekend in August, culminates at Store Bay, so our guests have the best vantage point from which to see the exciting finish!
  • Our twin island nation celebrates its Independence on August 31.

  • September-October
  • "This is a busy time in Tobago with cycling and golf competitions to keep you active! "

  • November-December
  • Tobago’s rich topography makes it a great destination for bird watching at any time of year, but closer to Christmas is an especially good time for birders.
  • ‘Tis the season to be jolly, and everyone in Tobago certainly is at this time of year! We celebrate Christmas in a big way, complete with an annual kite-flying festival and Old Year’s Night (or New Year’s Eve) celebrations. Here’s to another exciting year!
